Make Anki Flashcards From Your Study Material
Start with pasted notes, a supported document, an image, or another readable source. The browser extracts text where possible and sends that text to the configured card-generation service. Choose Auto or a target from 10 to 50 cards, then review and edit the questions and answers before exporting. Source labels help you return to a document or page when you need to check a detail.
This workflow is useful when you want a first draft from your own material and plan to keep reviewing in Anki. It does not install an Anki add-on or connect to an Anki collection. Your working deck stays in this browser until you export it or clear the browser's local data.
Export Front, Back, and Tags as Tab-Separated Text
Choose the Anki option in the deck export menu to download a UTF-8 text file. Each card row contains a front field, a back field, and a tag field separated by tabs; the file also includes import headers such as the deck name. Anki's official manual documents importing plain-text files with tab-separated fields. In Anki's import dialog, review the detected separator and field mapping, then check the preview before adding notes.
The back field can include the card answer and explanation. The export uses HTML line breaks for explanation formatting. If a field contains content that needs special formatting, inspect the import preview and adjust Anki's import options before confirming.
Understand What Transfers to Anki
This export is text, not an .apkg deck package. It does not carry this site's review history, media files, image-occlusion data, or native Anki note types. A cloze card from this deck is exported as ordinary front-and-back text; it is not converted into an Anki Cloze note automatically. If you need those Anki-specific card types or media, create or convert them in Anki and verify the result there.
Anki's scheduling belongs to your Anki collection. This site's review schedule is separate and remains with the local deck in this browser. Keep an independent JSON export of important decks before removing browser data.
A Careful Import Workflow
Generate and edit the cards, download the Anki text file, and choose File → Import in Anki. Confirm that tabs separate the fields and map the first two columns to the note's front and back. Map the third column to tags if you want to keep the exported concepts as tags. Preview several notes, including one with an explanation or punctuation, before importing the full file.
